Hello, who am I? For
those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lee Harwood and I’m a 16-year-old
with high ambitions of being a sports journalist. I also write the blog, ‘My
Premier League Thoughts…’ in which I talk about my opinions on the Premier
League and other football issues, so be sure to check that out. http://mypremierleaguethoughts.blogspot.co.uk/
there is the link for you.
However, in this
blog I will be adventuring through a career on the popular football simulator
game, Football Manager 2016. With your help and my football brain, we will
power through the Premier League and hopefully triumph in the Champions League!
I enjoy to interact with readers of my blog and so this career on football
manager allows me to not only interact with readers but have a fun, successful
time playing a game I love with lots of people.
Arsenal is the team that I have selected to use for this quest. The
goals I have set for us to achieve are to win the treble, which in England
consists of the Premier League, FA cup and the Champions League. I feel that we
can create a team strong enough to battle it out against the likes of Barcelona
and come up with a tactic that benefits my players and allows us to play
stylish, fluid football.
MY MANAGER
This is me, a handsome, blonde young
English manager who will make an impact on
Arsenal, and add to the long history, but the first job will be to improve on
the dreaded position Arsenal have recently made home, 4th place!
Lee Harwood, Arsenal’s new manager, favours the formation 4-2-3-1 and
has the best managerial license available, as well as the experience of being
an international footballer. Lee’s England career came to an end with the
ex-attacking midfield player scoring 46 goals in 129 games. Domestically, Lee
Harwood played under top managers Terry Venables whilst at Tottenham Hotspur
before moving to Manchester United where he enjoyed success with manager Alex
Ferguson, winning multiple Premier League trophies and had a tremendous goal
scoring record; 172 goals in 302 games.
The new man at Arsenal is very much a tactical, always thinking manager,
who likes to get his tactics right and he will analysis the team’s performance
in depth to ensure the team does well and betters themselves every
weekend.
Arsenal’s Star Players!
Arsenal have a squad full of great talent, from world-class superstars
to promising youngsters. I feel Lee Harwood can nurture the youngsters and provide
the encouragement to the fan favourites so that Arsenal will thrive and
accomplish their hopes.
Alexis Sanchez, possibly the best player at the club. He has the ability
to change a game by himself. Sanchez is the type of player every manager loves
to have in his team, his work rate and technique is incredible. Alexis is a player
that this career will be built around and hopefully will prove to be the player
who leads Arsenal to title glory.
Mesut Ozil, the centre attacking midfield is a
great player with lots of experience and bags of ability. The German produces
fantastic stats, particularly in assists. The phenomenal player will be a key
player in helping my Arsenal team dominate the Premier League.
A quality pair of safe hands between the sticks is vital for
teams challenging for trophies. Arsenal having Petr Cech, the experienced helmet
head provides stability at the back and reassurance. He makes my defence much
better and helps me out loads by having somebody who can also lead the team.
Goals, Fixtures and Philosophies!
The aim of managing Arsenal is to
ultimately do the treble, winning the Premier League, FA cup and Champions
League. In the running I would also like to produce some quality young talent, particularly
English players and so we would provide a future for Arsenal.
Arsenal’s board have set me some
philosophies which I agreed with as they were something I wanted to do anyway. Playing
possession football and attacking football were proposed by the board and I agreed
as I feel that is the best way Arsenal would play and get the results expected
of them. Also they wanted me to produce young talent which is what I enjoy to
do anyway when playing Football Manager.
Our
fixture list looks decent. As we finished 4th Arsenal have to play
in qualifiers for the Champions League but I’m pretty confident we can overcome
the test and make it into the groups. Preseason is a great opportunity to trial
players and formations.
Transfers
This is where you come in, who would you like me to attempt to bring
into the Arsenal team? I have a transfer budget of 66million pounds and a hefty
wage budget of 500,000 pounds’ wage. Personally, I think maybe a partner for
Olivier Giroud in striker could be necessary, especially with Welbeck being out
injured for 8 months. However, Walcott is an option for the striker role if
needed. But I need you to let me know
some players, that we could realistically try to buy, to improve our team and
be successful.
Thank you for reading this blog post. I hope you enjoyed the content and
I appreciate all the advice and support. In my next post I will be starting
preseason and trying out some tactics and players. Let me know who I should
look to buy and be sure to check out my other blog. From the Arsenal manager,
thank you very much and see you next time.
